Windows Vista Install
Having been pretty unsucessful in previous attempts to upgrade to Vista (due to lack of driver support), I waited for the release and finally last night upgraded. On the whole it went ok, but I did run into certain issues which I'll start blogging about seperately. What I must say is that although I've already got a lot of my tools installed and the system is quite loaded, I notice a significant speed increase over XP. Some of the cool things I like about Vista so far is the filtering you can do in any explorer Windows to search for specific files, etc. Despite being a *nuisance* at times, the fact that everything runs as a normal user is actually very good too. The start menu is better too, since it doesn't take up all your screen, but a small scrollbable region. However, I personally never use the Start menu (and create my own, it's more productive).
