Beyond Fear

I read this book before I read Secrets and Lies (I have that one still on my bookshelf to read). Therefore I can't really compare it to the first or say if it's a continuation of it or not. What I can say is that this book provides a good understanding of some of the security measures that have been put in place after the September 11 attacks in the US and how many of them fall short from providing any better security. It refers a lot to historical events and techniques that have been in place for many years. He tries to explain how certain measures fail and at the same time provides insight on how to take steps to improve them. He also explains that not always technology is the best approach to security and how human interaction is still required. I would recommend this book for people that firmly believe that security measures put in place by our governments are always for the good of the people and are not in some ways trying to cut down our freedom. This book will certainly open their eyes and make them think twice about accepting every measure. This is not a technical book and is very easy to understand.
