I bought this book at BorCon, can't remember which one. It
was back in the days when we had to start working on porting Indy
(called Winshoes at the time) over to Kylix. My first socket
"experience" was with Unix, and thus my love to Winshoes (blocking
approach), so this book for me felt right at home. If you want
insight and get to know sockets in and out, down to the guts and bare
bones of it, this is the book for you. It is packed with lots of
code samples (in C and can be compiled with gcc) and gives
you a hands-on approach to socket development. Highly recommended if you
like socket programming. |
